Curated and exhibited in 2007 to coincide with the Frieze Art Fair, Simon Rumley and Zavier Ellis's show, The Future Can Wait, was a direct response to their ten years of experience on the London gallery circuit. Both recognized for spotting rising talent, the exhibition showcased the best of emerging talent from the London scene on the scale of a museum survey show. Understanding the importance of international connections, Ellis and Rumley always intended the show to expand to other destinations and New London School is the first international offshoot of this progressive show.

Largely concentrating on painting, New London School will act as in introduction of rising London based and educated talent to the Los Angeles art scene. The artists included are the international contemporaries of celebrated young Los Angeles based painters and the exhibition will spearhead global networks and connections, creating the possibility of future collaborations.

Zavier Ellis founded his first gallery in London two years after graduating, his most recent project, Charlie Smith London, is a curatorial dealership that aims to promote interrelations between artists, curators and galleries whilst maintaining a priority to show work in its correct context. Simon Rumley founded New London Kicks in 2005, a project that aimed to infiltrate the New York scene with new London talent. He is also a film director and writer when not curating.
