The Mark Moore Gallery is proud to present the first Los Angeles solo exhibition of Sush Machida Gaikotsu. Born in Japan and educated at Utah State University and University of Nevada, his language is pop fantasy - a media informed cosmology set in the terrain of animation and the internet.
Sush uses meticulous drawing and airbrushing to create stories of strange bloated whales, snakes, rabbits - an overly fertile populous, in battle or accompanying superheroes of the past and future. These characters exist in a colorfully lurid landscape; a menacing place that feels far too
familiar. The comic appearance of Sush’s paintings shadow his themes of an over ripe and fecund world with a natural disorder.
