The Mark Moore Gallery is proud to present the first Los Angeles exhibition of photographer David Hilliard. The artist creates multi-paneled, color photographs that combine autobiography and fiction. Using elements of humor, drama, and the mundane, Hilliard addresses his own personal history while also speaking to universal experience. The exhibition will include works from 1993 to the present.
David Hilliard’s work has been exhibited and published both in the United
States and Europe. He has had solo exhibitions at the Bernard Toale Gallery
in Boston, DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA and the Museum of Salamanca,
Spain, among others, and was invited in 1998 to photograph the city of
Bilbao in honor of it’s 700th anniversary. Hilliard holds a BFA from the
Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from Yale University. He has
received grants from the Fulbright Foundation and the Massachussetts
Cultural Council.
