Mark Moore Gallery is pleased to present its second exhibition of recent paintings by San Francisco-based artist TOMAS NAKADA, from June 3 - 24, 1995.
A dozen recent paintings, culled from the artist’s recent one-person exhibition at the Richmond Art Center (January - March 1995; brochure available), demonstrates Nakada’s development of his small (12 x 9 inch, 12 x 10 inch) paintings
of oil and wax. While maintaining the artist’s continuing interest in matters both biological and microscopic, these new works treat the unseen interior landscape as a base for lush, evocative painting.
Concurrent with the Mark Moore Gallery exhibition, Nakada is represented by eight works from 1993 in the exhibition California: In Three Dimensions on view at the California Center for the Arts Museum in Escondido, California
(May 20 - September 10, 1995; catalogue available), and recently presented a one-person exhibition at Thomas Babeor Fine Art in La Jolla (May).
