SABINA OTT HAS LIVED, WORKED AND TAUGHT IN THE LOS ANGELES ART WORLD FOR OVER TEN YEARS, AND HAS BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS COMMUNITY IN TERMS OF BOTH INTELLECTUAL RIGOR AND CONSCIENTIOUS ART-MAKING.

SABINA OTT WILL BE LEAVING LOS ANGELES IN JANUARY TO ASSUME AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSORSHIP AT THE PRESTIGIOUS SCHOOL OF ART AT WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, ST. LOUIS; AN EXHIBITION THAT WILL INCLUDE FIVE OF HER PAINTINGS FROM THE LAST FIVE YEARS WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE GALLERY OF ART, WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, FROM NOVEMBER 3 - DECEMBER 17 OF THIS YEAR.

WITH WORKS REPRESENTED IN THE COLLECTIONS OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART, NEWPORT HARBOR ART MUSEUM, THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART, THE CORCORAN GALLERY OF ART AND BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY, OTT WILL PRESENT A SELECTION OF APPROXIMATELY TEN TO TWELVE RECENT WORKS FROM HER CURRENT “SUB ROSA” SERIES, ALONG WITH RELATED SCULPTURAL WORKS THAT HAVE INTERESTED HER FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS.

OTT’S INFLUENCE AS A TEACHER AT THE ART CENTER SCHOOL OF DESIGN IN PASADENA HAS BEEN INVALUABLE IN DEVELOPING A NEW GENERATION OF SERIOUS, COMMITED ARTISTS WHO WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE AND WORK IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MILIEU, AND THE MARK MOORE GALLERY LOOKS FORWARD TO PRESENTING HER MATURE AND BEAUTIFUL WORKS TO THE LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY IN THE YEARS TO COME.
